Computer Topic #2: Is it worth buying a used laptop?

My own personal opinion in buying a used laptop would be not to. When buying a used laptop you never know the history behind it. The seller can tell you that it works like a charm and they are selling it because it is time for an upgrade, but is that the real reason in why they are selling it?
Everyone knows that everyone wants the latest, newest, hottest computer on the market. So why would someone waste their money on a used computer for 300 dollars? Yes they may think they are truly getting a wonderful deal on the laptop. What happens when you take it home, and you charge the battery in the laptop but it won’t stay charged? You are looking at spending 100-150 dollars on a new battery. So now the computer is costing you 450 dollars. Now after you have went a bought a new battery, you are now interested about going and checking out face book, and that’s when you realize that your laptop doesn’t have a built in Ethernet network port which means you can get an internet connect. You are looking at spending 50 dollars. So now the laptop is costing you 500 dollars.
Yes I know that it’s not certain that all those things will go wrong with this laptop all at once, but as everyone knows that it will happen sooner or later. Some people may not have enough money just to go out and buy the newest latest, hottest laptop on the market, but that’s when the person whom is looking at buying a laptop should wait until they have enough money to go out and buy a new laptop.
By the time that someone goes out and thinks they are truly getting a wonderful deal on a laptop, and just after a week they bought it they have to put around 200 dollars into this laptop, that was a lemon since the day they bought it. They would have enough money to go out and buy a new laptop.
Just people the seller is telling you everything you want to hear, doesn’t mean that it is going the perfect laptop that is never going to need any money put into it, because it will. So don’t waste your hard earned money on a used laptop wait until you have the money to go out and buy a new laptop, something that you know will be worth the hard earned money spend on it.
