Mac Vs. PC.

In the wide world of computing goods there has never been a more fired debate as the one ensuing between the mighty Personal Computer, and the Apple I Mac, and Mac books. Now in this fierce fight there are many points worth contesting. I shall begin by tearing down the mighty Mac that our internet hosts have so vigorously thrust upon a pedestal far over looming what it should be.

The Mac is a generally terrible piece of machinery, its only benefit is that it has a considerably more stable OS than the PC has ever had and possibly will ever have. Now putting that aside the Mac has been appraised for having superior audio, video, and any general multimedia applications but this is not true. The applications are quickly being rewritten for PC as well as the fact that almost all of the hardware inside of a Mac is made by the same people who make PC components. The Mac OS can simply run them better thus leading to the assumption they are better, and for software’s sake, they are.

Now in PC’s defence they did just go through a very terrible phase of an atrocious OS named Vista that all will remember as the black mark on PC’s name. This has caused many Mac fans to flame up, and spout that all PC operating systems are terrible which simply is not true. PC had one of the best operating systems ever made in Windows XP which many hail as an amazing achievement.

Leopard OS X is a fantastic OS and there are no loopholes within it. It is free of viruses, everything is easy to find, program’s function quickly with minimal lag. Yet leopard suffers the same problem that all Macs have in common. The lack of a right click button. I know it can be fixed by buying another mouse, but finding a good mouse for a Mac; that is a decent price is very tedious and never comes out cheap. Also I am aware of the control button on the keyboard, but what is the point of that button? I mean yeah, here is your right click button but, surprise its not on the mouse. I find this a coy plan of Mac to force the buyer to shell out more money for a decent mouse.

The keyboard. Oh the keyboard on a Mac is a monster of and in itself. It is heavy; the keys stick after almost no use on the desktop models. On the Mac Books however this problem is avoided and the keyboards are similar to those released for PC. Although a Apple did once produce a keyboard to mimic those already in production by PC, it simply was a PC keyboard adapted to Mac and its schemes.

On to design for the PC and the Mac. The design of the Mac is really a bit to look at, especially on their older models. The Mac’s design has always been an eye catcher, albeit their old models were a little clunky. PC matches this clunky trait with the oversized towers made for the most amazing thing PC has to offer that Mac’s fail to compete with. Customization is a major trait on PCs and ill come back to this a little later. Design on the PC is a large very prominent tower of metal that houses all of the internal components whereas the elder Macs have a large plastic case that houses all of the components in a way that exchange is impossible. The newer models for both computers are far slimmer and this delves into laptops, which along all lines have become far thinner. The Macbook air as an example is a completely useless thing. Who really needs a laptop that is as thick as a piece of paper? I am serious here, as the site itself says that apple tries to appeal to the higher classes and the richer men and women of society they therefore are making status symbols.

Now as for software, price, and overall I will finish this and put Mac in the dirt. For software, Mac’s OS Leopard is far superior to Windows Vista yes, but so was XP, and 2000, Vista was a monster and if the online comparisons were done between a model that had come out more recently or perhaps one that was a few years old PC would have risen above the Mac, in price as well as function. PC does try to sell to a more global market with their products and this makes them more versatile as well as more cost efficient, when all is tied together a PC can be customized with a Microsoft 7, or Microsoft XP OS which will demolish Leopard in many comparisons based on RAM and Hard drive configurations. Now the Mac’s in these comparisons are new models which shocked me and they in fact chose some of the worst models of PC on the market and the previous market that are not designed to be excellent performers like all Mac’s are. As with men all PCs are not created equal, same can be said of Mac’s though in general they are of a higher standard than the basic PCs such as Acer or perhaps Emachines, they would be more akin with the higher lever HP or Dell brand computers such as the Dell alienware laptop which costs similar to a 15 in 2.53 GHz screen Macbook on the Apple store.

To end my point is that a PC is more apt to rise to more challenges to a Mac as well as being a simpler platform to build ones dreams upon. A PC can be anything one wants it to be while a Mac comes as it is and that’s it. PCs are cheaper, though if you have the money to shell out for a Mac and all of those extra components to get it up to snuff with a PC then by all means go for it though if you are average Joe or Jill, the PC is where it’s at.

Mac Vs Pc

The arguement that mac is better then pc is all a matter of opinion. Neither is actually better then the other unless you have a 6 year old pc up againts a 2 year old mac. In reality it all depends on what programs you want on your computer and which opperating system you like better. it is possible to put each opperating system on either computer. With windows computers you have more chance of the progam you want being compatible with your computer. With mac you are more likely to find artistic progams such as garage band or movie maker. there are versions of these programs for windows but they are not as well known as the mac versions. macs also do not get viruses but if you are smart with your windows computer and have a virus scanner chances are you will also not get a virus. sure macs look nice and pc's are easy to use but in the end it is up to you to decide which you like better.

Mac vs. pc

The biggest argument that most people bring up is that Macs are more expensive then pc’s or with different wording that you can get a better pc for the price you pay then a Mac. This is not completely true. For the most part a Mac with similar properties will be close to the same price as a good quality pc. The reason you see moderately higher prices on Macs is because the apple company does not target the same market as Pc’s do. Macs target the market of mid to high end users. Were Pc's target low mid and high end users. Thus Pc's do have cheaper computers but they do not match up to anything a Mac can make. My conclusion for this part of my argument is that in general if a Mac vs. a pc has the same or close to the same price they should be similar quality. Mac’s tend to be a little more customizable though.

The biggest advantage to a Mac is that the operating system is much more stable and reliable. It also comes standard on every Mac for no extra charge. Were is on a pc part of the price of the computer is paying for the operating system and the programs. There are thousands of viruses made for pc’s each year and they can be very dangerous. There are next to no viruses for Macs because 90 percent of computers out there are pc’s so it is quite pointless to make a virus for a Mac. And even if there was one made it would do nearly nothing because of the way the operating system works on Macs.

The biggest advantage to a pc is also part of its downfall. Most of the computers on this earth are Pc's this is because there are many different companies making Pc's were there is only one company making Macs. The only reason there is such a huge conflict between these two companies is because they are both so radically different. Because there are so many more Pc's then there are Macs an owner of a pc may be more compatible with other peoples stuff. But this is almost irrelevant now because both companies have advanced so much that this problem almost never shows.

One thing that bothers a lot of people abut Macs is the one click mouse. The thing that makes most people like pc’s is the right and left click mouse option. Well if I see this come up in a person’s argument I will just laugh because companies like next tech that make computer mice have developed mice with left and right click that work in a Mac.

People use to think that there were more programs out for pc’s then Macs. This use to be true. But now you can pretty much find any program you could ever want or need for a Mac. And if you cant then you could just run a pc program on the Mac they have been made to be compatible now.

I have decided to not decide on the overall, because in my opinion there is no strait answer for this question is a Mac or pc a better computer. The simplest answer is that the two companies are too different to compare side by side perfectly. One may be better for one function were the other is better for a different function. So the winner is left for the needs and opinion of the person who is trying to decide which one to buy. For the most part you get what you pay for regardless of name. If you go cheap you won’t end up with a great computer no matter what name is branded on the front.

What to Look for When Buying a Used Laptop- Morton Ingersoll
When you want to buy a new or used laptop, always do your research before purchasing anything. This guide will give you a point-form list of things to look for in the laptop that you would like to purchase.
· Lithium Ion Battery- One of the longest lasting batteries in the market today, check how long it lasts since it’s used.
· Hard drive with at least 120 GB of space to save important files, programs and pictures.
· Wireless network card- Enables you to connect to the internet wirelessly when near a signal.
· At least 2GB of Ram for fast program responses.
· CD Writer (optional for those who need to burn CDs).
· Windows XP operating system or higher (for Macs, look for OS) for more user-friendly options.
· No Damage- You always want your computer to look as good as new, and to work just like it’s new.
· No faulty ports/ drives- So that everything will be working normal. Ex. CD drive, Mic /headphones port.
· A Screen with no purple haze or discolouration- To get the highest visual quality out of your laptop experience.
· Keyboard and Touch pad still works- Without a proper working keyboard, a laptop is basically useless. Make sure the touchpad and keyboard both work before buying.
Used Laptop for Sale- Morton Ingersoll
Laptop Model: Hp Envy 15
Specs: 1.6GHz Intel Core i7-720QM CPU with 6MB L2 cache
4 GB of Ram
320 GB Hard drive

This laptop is in excellent shape, there is no visible wear anywhere on the laptop. The screen is just like when I bought it, bright with no discolouration. The keys under the touch pad still work, and are not loose. This laptop is very fast with its 4GB of RAM, and would make a great business or home laptop.
PC vs. Mac- Morton Ingersoll
For many years, people have shared their uneducated opinions about the Mac vs. PC with others to try and keep the PC flame strong. It is now time to get an educated opinion on the Mac vs. PC opinions. From the Articles I have read/ listened to, there have been many points made about each platform.
People often rant about how expensive Macs are. There is a reason for this: Quantity and Quality. If you took all the best things about the PC platform and added them all in one operating system that was equivalent to a Mac, then you would see that there is no difference in price. I used to be one of the people that always ranted about the Mac because they were so “weird”. This has now changed by reading up on the specs of the Mac. Yes, the Mac’s operating system is a bit different than the one offered on the PC, but with the Max OS X system, you can have a “windows-looking” operating screen.
PCs have been the peoples’ choice for many years, and still remains to be. The PC has always had a simple operating system to “lure” people into buying a PC. I am still a PC user, and I don’t really have any complaints, but I do feel now that there is more upgrades for the Mac, causing me to sway towards the “Mac side”. Since the majority of the human race use PCs, there are hackers and virus makers out there making viruses and hacking networks for money. They say that Mac’s cannot get viruses but, I believe when the day comes that the majority starts using Macs that there will be someone out there that will make a Mac virus.
In conclusion, I am still a PC user, I still like the PCs operating system, but I do feel that I will be a Mac user when I’m off to college.

Mac vs. PC

After reading many various websites, looking at various stats and watching many videos I have concluding one thing: each system is as insecure as the other. While I was looking at the stats on the recommended websites I noticed one thing, these websites are outdated. Yes, the stats for Mac were better then and now they probably still are.

I was shocked to find otherwise. I personally went to the Apple and Toshiba and I began to compare. The Qosmio X505-Q880 cost $1899.99 with no upgrades, 18’ screen. The Macbook Pro cost $2499.99 with no upgrades, 17’ screen. The first thing I noticed was that both computers have the same hard drive space but the Toshiba ran at 7200rpm while the Mac ran at 5400rpm. I am not going to compare every single thing in this blog posting but after comparing processors the Toshiba was better, and it also had much more memory. However, the Mac still won in graphics.

Now just because the stats are better on one computer doesn’t mean that you can’t go and select your own options. Many websites allow you to do that so that your computer fits your needs. That is where my next point comes in. The truth is Mac is pricier then PC and that is something you have to consider, especially on what you are going to use your computer for. If you plan on making videos, dealing with photos, maybe even making your own magazine then a Mac may be for you. If you want to get the job done now and now worry about boarders then a PC may be for you. Still, if you want to deal with photos on a PC go ahead, it doesn’t mean you are going to be any less satisfied. The same with getting things done on Mac.

My point is that no matter how many times you compare Mac to PC no one is going to agree on anything, ever. PC has this, Mac has that but either way they both have things you want. One looks more difficult to use, one is basic. This one has that program; I can’t run this program on that computer. Overall, just buy a computer to fit your needs and no one else’s. Yes, one computer may have some cool little program that looks cool, but are you really ever going to use it. One computer may have more hard drive space but are you ever going to fill it. The Mac vs. PC argument shouldn’t even exist people should just get what they want.

“If the MacBook were a cup of java, for instance, it would perhaps best be represented by Starbucks – comes at a premium price, looks down its nose at weaker, diluted counterparts and is a trendy status symbol.

Personal computers, meanwhile, could be compared to Tim Hortons as a brand: economical, ubiquitous and prosaic in look.” – thestars.net

I still do have an opinion on this argument. Personally, I would rather go to Tim Hortons.

Mac vs. PC
Mac Does not completely have the upper hand too Mac vs. PC. The Pc does have a better rating in Adobe Creativity Suite 3 with installation time of 25.45 minutes, where the MAC is 31.44 minutes. The MAC is not a better when it comes to Graphics, and sound. Each is equally as clear and sound as good when the right upgrades are added.
The PC is not a better business computer the MAC. The Mac an PC as long as the same programs are installed. Programs have different speeds for different computers this is what make people think that macs are better, or Pcs are. The plus side to mac is that there is no viruses, so no extra fees to intall a anti virus system.
I personally think macs are better, but i really like my Gateway.

mac vs. Pc

Mac Vs PC
When buying a computer there are two types you need to consider. Either a Mac or a pc. There are several high points to either computer you want.
I will start off with the Mac. The first high point of the Mac is that it runs very fast. Here are the specs for the imac. The start up time is 28 seconds. For shut down it takes 4 seconds. As for installation of programs it takes anywhere from four minutes to thirty one minute’s. For launching programs it takes on average about 3.5 seconds, except for burning cds, it takes 3.5 minutes. There is a 20-in. Screen, 1 gb ddr2 RAM and a 320 GB hard drive.
As for the pc i will start off with the specs as i did with the Mac. For the start up time it takes 1 minute and 13 seconds. Shut down time takes 43 seconds. For installation it ranges anywhere from five minutes to 25 minutes. When opening programs it takes anywhere from 5 seconds to forty seconds. For programs opening and installation the mac wins, and will run faster, for movies the mac is much better because of i movie. Over all the mac wins being rated professionally four out of five, where the pc was rated three and a half out of five. Over all it depends if you want to use the mac programs or you want to use windows.

Mac vs. Pc

After reading about Macs and PCs I have come to find that Macs are a much better buy. Macs may be a bit more pricy but it is differently a better buy. When it comes to Macs after everything I have read they seem to be faster when it comes to botting up a Mac takes about 42 seconds and PC takes about 2 minutes Macs differently last much longer then PCs. A Mac laptop can last for 3 hours and 34 minutes where a PCs battery only one hour and 32 minutes.
Another thing that makes Macs better then a PC is that PCs have problems with viruses and Macs can’t get viruses this is because Mac OS X operating system is generally more stable, considering that Macs have less of a tendency to crash, don’t require as much maintenance and aren’t targeted as much. The reason that PCs get viruses is because of their operating system because hackers know how to get into windows there are a lot more viruses a PC can get.
Some people may think that Macs cost more money but if you look at what you are getting for your money it seems worth it. When buying a PC most of the time you cannot customize your computer, where when you buy a Mac you can always customize your computer. When buying a Dell XPS One 24 it cost 1,820.27 after all taxes and shipping and handling when you buy a dell like this you get a GB of ram but you only get 8000 Mhz and a hard drive that is 320 GB with 7200 rpm and only a 32 bit. When you get an Apply 24” iMac it cost 1,935.27 after all taxes and shipping and handling for a Mac like this you get 4Gb 1066MHz and 640GB hard drive 7200 RPM and has Mac Os X leopard and you can used up to 8 GB of ram. So the IMac is 115 dollars the dell but it has better ram double the hard drive and a better operating system.

Mac vs. PC

The fight between Mac and Pc is a never ending fight. From the articles I have read, all state that theoretically Mac is a better computer. In the comparison between an iMac and a Gateway One on popularmechanics.com it shows that the iMac has a better response time and is also cheaper by 300 so dollars. The basic iMac costs 1499$ and the basic Gateway One costs 1800 dollars. Over all I think that the Mac is better, even though some times it costs more. But you pay for quality don't you ?

Mac vs. PC

The video showed that Mac is better than PC computers, but it that true? All computers have disadvantages and advantages and at some point your computer will crash. Mac computers are more money than a PC, why is that? There are reasons that Mac are more money such as, Apple has hardware and software, and Macs are advertised so much that people think that a Mac is the best way to go for a computer. The company realizes that the Macs are well advertised and know that they will sell no matter what price they are, and the parts to the Mc computers cost so much money if one needs to be replaced.
So are Macs really the best? Well when buying a PC the Microsoft office comes with the computer. When you buy the PC computers you get the “licence” for using Microsoft. When Macs were first designed and became public they were known to be used for pictures in the media and PC’s were just a computer. PC’ s can be used for just about anything. When Mac is being studied there is always one point that is brought up and that it that the Mac has a more stable system.

The computers that people buy are their own opinion. People buy computers that they want. Yes, the advertisements that people see on TV or however it does affect their decision. Most people who have a computer know what type of computer they like and know what they would buy in the future. Whoever buys a computer, it is their choice what type they buy.

Mac vs. PC

Everyone has this own opinion on different computers, which makes it very difficult when it’s time to upgrade to a new one. You know what type of computer you are looking are, but yet maybe the person who is helping you at the store doesn’t believe that you are making the right deal.
Here’s my scenario, I am going out to future shop to get a new computer, and the computer of my choice would be a Mac, but the person who is dealing with me believes that I am making a wrong choice in computer, so I begin to tell him...
- Hardware: It has a 20 in screen, 2.4 GHz Intel Core, 1 GB of RAM, 320 GB hard drive, built-in Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, 8 x CD/DVD burners, remote control, and an HD 2600 graphics card.
- Software: OS X Leopard, iLife ’08 (iTunes, iPhoto, GarageBand, Etc) and an iWork 30 day trial.
- The average start up is 28.7 seconds
- The average shutdown is 4.0 seconds
- The internet browser loads in 3.3 seconds
- Microsoft word loads in 4.2 seconds
- CD rip only takes 3 minutes, 35 seconds.
Where is if I was going to by a PC all of that stuff wouldn’t work/run as fast.
- Hardware: 19 in screen, 2.0 GHz Intel Core, 3 GB Ram, 500 GB hard drive, built in Wi-Fi, 8 x CD/DVD burner, remote control. HD 2600 graphics card.
- Software: windows vista home premium, Microsoft works 8.5, Media center, Microsoft office (60 day trial)
- The average start up is 1 minute, 13 seconds
- The average shut down is 44.3 seconds
- Internet browser loads is 6.3 seconds
- Microsoft word loads in 5.2 seconds
- CD rip takes 3 minutes, 35 seconds
I turned and looked at the man helping me, and asked him one simple question why would I want a PC that cost $1800 when a MAC works/run faster, and it only cost $1499.

Mac VS PC

Mac VS PC
The Mac computers are much faster than the PC. A Mac computer will start up in 41.6 sec while the PC takes 1 min 51 sec. The Mac will shut down in 3.9 sec, while the PC takes 25.4 sec. The internet, Microsoft word, CD rip are all faster on a Mac than a PC. So if you are looking for speed than a Mac is the place to be.
Macs are a little more pricier than PC’s but Mac will come with the software that you need. With a PC you will need to have a license with them but a Mac you do not need a license with.
Macs are especially good for making Videos and music. They were originally known for video but as more people get them they had to come out with all the programs the PC did.
Macs are good for the internet because they do not get viruses. A PC you need to buy a virus protection which will add more to your cost making it close to the same price as the Mac.
Another good thing about a Mac is you can still run your windows program on your Mac computer and you can use your same license number that you had before with your PC.
Ratings show that a Mac is better than a PC. An overall rating of a Mac is 4 star and the PC is only 3 and a half stars.

Used Computers

No it is not worth buying a new laptop, especially off of the internet. You never know what little hidden problems you will find with your “new” laptop. It could ne that the person says there are no dead pixels yet when your get the laptop the back light doesn’t work. There is also the possibility that the laptop battery will not hold any power and will only work when it is plugged in. there is also the problem with computers being updated every month or so, to me a computer is only new until a better one comes out (which wont be long) you should find out if the computer will be able to run the programs that you want to use. Usually by the time some one is ready to sell there computer it is not a computer worth having any more. Also look for things like if the CD drive works, do you really want a computer that won’t read DVDs or burn CDs? All in all there are far too many hazards to buying a used computer and is probably not worth it in the long run.

Buying a Used Laptop

No it is not worth it to buy a second hand laptop. Why save a hundred bucks on a older computer that could have problems with its RAM, or Harddrive, or screen? The screen on a laptop is the most expensive part too replace, and who knows when it could go. Maybe when you looked at it the screen was perfect not a dead pixtel you could see, but the next day sure enough lines start popping up on the screen. Now you have spent your hundred bucks or so, and have a piece of junk. You probably would not find it worth it to replace a screen that would be more then what you paid for it.
Chances are when you buy a used laptop there will not be any warranty left on it. A warranty is a key component when buyings a laptop. Anything could go wrong with it, but with warranty the company will cover. Not the random guy you got it from down the road.
Everyday there is new technolgy put into computers. if you are buying a older used laptop chances are it is a couple years old. That might sound great but laptops aren't like a car. A couple years in a computer year is old. RAM's are less, hard drive is smaller, video cards less grapfic, sound cards not as good. So if your going to spend the money, why not get something up to date. Maybe the second hand computer just needs aRAM upgrade the guy tells you. You think great one part and this will e in great condition. Your wrong RAM and range from 50 to 200 dollars, 50 being the smallest most usuless amount.
If it where up too me chances are i wouldn't buy a used a Laptop. Maybe is it was from someone who i knew well, knew how they treated it, and it was only a couple months old only. i might get it. But I would inspect it from top to bottom researching the make and model seeing if it had recalls or major problems. That is the only way i would possibly buy a used laptop.
